Discover Tatev as a place of strength and faith in challenging times.
An ancient legend lives within the grounds of Tatev Monastery. The name “Tatev” means “give wings.” According to one of the legends, the master builder of the monastery, having completed his great work, stood at the edge of the gorge and, praying for wings, leapt into the abyss.
His courage and faith granted him the freedom of flight, and the monastery became a symbol of spiritual ascent.
The world is going through one of the most difficult periods in its history. We see destroyed cities, broken destinies, and the loss of human lives. We feel fear, pain, and division growing. And in this rising anxiety, it is especially important not to lose what matters most.
To remember, as Ruben Vardanyan says: “Evil cannot be defeated by evil. The response to what is happening is not revenge or bitterness, but a return to what makes us human.”
This path is not about the external. This pilgrimage is a journey inward — to ourselves.
A path toward the future we are obliged to leave to our children: toward peace, toward a place of strength and light, where they can love, create, live, and leave their mark.
The pilgrimage to Tatev is not only a spiritual journey, but also a commitment to meaningful action.
United by shared values, we dedicate this time to good deeds we believe in — supporting the local community and contributing to its long-term prosperity.

Today, the Syunik region faces serious challenges. In addition to the consequences of the war in Artsakh and the arrival of displaced Artsakh families forced to leave their homes, the region faces economic difficulties, limited employment opportunities, security concerns, and the need for long-term, sustainable development of both the economy and society.
A project aimed at preserving the heritage of Tatev and developing the Syunik region
“Tatev Monastery must become active again so that, as a thousand years ago, the entire region develops around it.”
The pilgrimage is carried out with the blessing of the Armenian Apostolic Church and through the joint efforts of the following organizations:
In previous pilgrimages, we did not simply walk the path — together we planted a garden and became guardians of the roots.
You help preserve heritage and shape the future of the region. Become part of Tatev’s future.
